Amazon? To Buy Dorchester Books
Saw this on Teleread
http://www.teleread.com/chris-meadow...er-dorchester/ Full story from Digital Book World (Richard Curtis of E-Reads) and press release here: http://www.digitalbookworld.com/2012...o-outbid-them/ This is good news for all the Dorchester authors who haven't gotten paid; as part of the deal Amazon (or whoever buys them) is paying their back royalties owed. The articles are saying Amazon could be outbid in the auction that is to take place on 8/28. |

Good news for those authors and their readers.

Not necessarily, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

This aught to scare the BPHs poopless more than anything Amazon has done of late.
If Amazon makes things right with a lot of authors here, enabling reversion of rights to whomever feels they were wronged...then the BPHs could find themselves embroiled in hostile takovers orchestrated by their authors. Well played. |

I'd be happy for the authors, if it didn't mean the books will probably be exclusive to Amazon. I don't buy Kindle ebooks.
I've been enjoying - as Dorchester authors get their rights back - seeing the books show up DRM free on Smashwords. |

Again, I'd reiterate Brian Keene's thoughts on the matter: http://www.briankeene.com/?p=11733
