It seems to me that the central contention behind the death, suffering, and destruction in the Middle East is the belief that God gave the Land of Canaan to the present day state of Israel.
This essay examines the evidence for the contention, and is written by a man who is a retired Christian minister, and who studied Judaism under Jewish teachers and Islam under Muslim teachers. He lived in Bethehem for 11 years, and was Dean of the Bethlehem Bible College.
