Cover image size

I have seen several posts refer to the size of the cover image. i have been using 400pX600p which seems to work OK. Is there a recommended size or a maximum size?

No size fits them all. The optimum size depends on the reading software/device that's going to be used. I usually have 800x600 covers, because that's the screen size of my reader, but even there they don't look perfect, because the software insists in adding some margins. Then, if the same file if read in landscape, or in a different reader, the cover will have to be scaled.

So, at the end I'd say use whatever size you like and works for you, but maybe 400x600 is a bit on the small side?

You might want to change: preserveAspectRatio="none" to preserveAspectRatio="xMidYMid meet" to scale the image to full screen without it distorting.

Note: it is YMid and not yMid (yMid failed when I tried it but YMid works swimmingly)
