Splitting m4b with chapters to mp3

I'm wondering if this is possible because I enjoy one app on android for audiobooks and I listen to them at x1.3 speed. This app can only speed up mp3 files though.

I've got several mb4 files that have chapter markers and I want to split the file at the chapter markers and make an mp3 for each chapter. Is that possible??

What software on a PC would I use?

ie. Legend of Drizzt 1 - Homeland has 29 chapters, I want to split it into 29 mp3 based on those marks.

I don't know of a way to transfer the chapter markers, but you can convert m4b to mp3 with Audacity. Then you can use the silence finder (I usually set it at 3 seconds) to look for the chapter markers, and use the export multiple files function to make an mp3 file for each chapter.

covnerting to mp3 isn't the issue, it's keeping the chapter marks...I found something that works though, it's just not free.

The silence finder is new though, I didn't know about that!

Oh, OK, I misunderstood. I use the silence finder all the time to create chapters, and it works pretty well.
