kindle & overdrive
Has any one tried to use the overdrive file downloading system at the public library systems on their kindle? Are any of the file formats avialable on overdrice compatable with the kindle?

The official answer, is no, Kindle doesnt support the formats. short answer is, not as provided. The ease with which you can convert from the provided format to Kindle format depends on the type. There are many, many discussions explaining the problems and possible solutions on this board - but they can't link directly to the scripts you need to make it happen, that is what the google search is for. Try this to start:
