If anyone else is using Evernote Beta there is an update

http://forum.evernote.com/phpbb/view...d0d15a9af7297c

Totally new design, works great, except still no luck with the camera for picture notes.

Nice that send email as pdf from journal allows creating a note in evernote now. Too bad it doesn't quite work. Would be better if you could create notes from journal as images instead of pdf.

Every Evernote account has an email address associated to send a note, it will show in your notes and open with Docs to go on the edge and in your browser on your PC.

The problem is that if you send the journal as a pdf to evernote then evernote will not try to recognize anything because you need premium account to search pdf. BUt even if you had the premium account it wouldn't work because the PDF OCR doesn't work with handwriting. Evernote treat images with a different algorithm that works with handwriting. That's why we need the journal to give the option of email as images if we want to be able to use evernote for handwriting search.

Here are two options for you to get those journal notes into Evernote and searchable. Zamzar online converts up to 100MB free http://www.zamzar.com/ and this is a very lightweight piece of software, also free http://download.cnet.com/Cool-PDF-Re...56.html#rateit
The extra step might be worth it if you need to search often.
