It would appear that Amazon is price matching many (all?) of the titles too.

Thanks for the heads up! I couldn't resist those prices and snagged Louise Penny's latest and the new Malcolm Gladwell. *twiddles thumbs waiting for the release dates*

Yes, thanks, I'll be getting at least one of these. The other I wanted from the list is still a bit pricey at 50% off, not sure it is with it to me.

Did you look at some of the prices? For Susan Weis Bauer's new book $17.50 is the 50% price -- the hardcover is $24.44. Richard North Patterson's new ebook is $13.47 at the 50% discount -- the hardcover is $17.50. This pricing is absurd.

I agree and it is why I did not buy any books the last time B&N ran this sale.

You are aware that it is the publishers setting those high list prices?
At half the list price B&N is probably not making any profit selling these books.

Yes, I am aware that it is the publishers setting the list prices. I wasn't pointing a finger at B&N, just at the absurdly high prices regardless of who is setting them.

I expect we will see more of these high list prices as publishers seek to do indirectly what the DOJ said they couldn't do directly.

Looks to me like they just went back to doing what they did before Agency and are using the hardcover list for the ebook as well.
