Kentucky Fried Domain Names
So now that the United State of Kentucky has seized a bunch of internet gambling site domain names what's next?
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-10...orsPicksArea.0 1) A large oil company seizes www.stevejordanbooks.com for refusing to stop selling "Chasing the Light" 2) The city of Mobile Alabama seizes www.mobileread.com because they refuse to block access to "Fanny Hill" and apparently it has some naughty bits. 3) Taylor514ce seizes www.google.com 4) ZP seizes www.zeldapinwheel.com 5) Brazil seizes www.amazon.com to save the rain forest 6) Barcey seizes 150 porn sites but they slip between his fingers... |

Those domain are based outside the USA so why should a court even think it has jurisdiction. That's what happen if the internet infrastructure remains under American control i guess.

I'm appalled to read this story. Does the fact that online gambling is illegal in Hicksville, Kentucky, really give them to right to try and shut down international businesses which are operating perfectly legally in the rest of the world?

Scopes Monkey Trial That, too, was in the good old state of Kentucky. They are death on wheels against "judicial legislation" but are ready at a whisper to take those they find "morally offensive" to court. |

Let's say next week a city bans all of Darwin's books. Since MobileRead has several of them for download, does this give them the right to take over MR? Amazon also sells them, can they get them too?
Now Amazon also sells playing cards, playing cards are used when playing poker, people bet on poker, thus Amazon is encouraging gambling. The also sell a roulette set, if this does not encourage gambling I don't know what does. Then there are the books about beating the system. |

Governments really should stay out of legislating on "morals", IMHO. Leave that to the individual.

Would you consider making it a class action? My tail was docked as a puppy [exhibit A to the left] and this site puppydogtails.com must have been responsible. |

You're in, Uncle Duke. Would you prefer glazed or jelly-filled? Anyone else? Afterall, I checked out the site and I truly think it's a satanic work of the devil. We need to take them DOWN! Puppy dog tails - indeed!
