Post Cutcliffe Hyne, C J: Atoms of Empire v 1 Nov 7 2008 epub

These stories are written in so fresh a style that you think that they have been created yesterday, but stem from 1904:
Quote:
The wandering Englishman, the atom of empire, at sundry ends of the earth is not always good company in the flesh, but in Mr. Cutcliffe Hyne's stories he is good company. For the reader is not in the position of the "native"; he is, on the contrary, elected of the company of proper Britons and talked to as an equal.
This is a bloody great read!

Taken from manybooks, pimped it up a bit

Could be slightly better formatted: page breaks, nested TOC, -- converted to emdash or the extra right margin necessary for DE and its page numbers.
In ePub, you shouldn't have to include an inline TOC either.

You're absolutely right. I use Calibre for the conversion from PRC right now (where the nested toc, emdash etc work just fine) and I just won't use DE as a reader, thank you very much (I don't like Big Brother too much). I do think that I just might have to find a dedicated epub creator that accepts my html and lets me add the features present in LRF and PRC. Oh, and it should be available offline. Any tips? Linux would be best, but windows will do fine, too.

Well then, the answer is pretty short: there's no such creator.
