Hi to all. I've just signed up on this site, so please bear with me while I try to figure things out. I don't normally "talk" much, so you guys will probably see me lurking around the various forums getting a feel for things.

I have the Sony PRS-500 and absolutely love it! So much easier to carry around than bunches of books. Anyway, justed wanted to say Hi and introduce myself.

Well, with nearly 39,000 members it would be hard to decide which word would be appropriate. We might have to create our own word . . . or . . . maybe not.

Hi VetteLady and welcome to MobileRead. I alnost bought a 500 but, owing to lots of things, I ended up getting a 505 and like it a lot.

Cassidym, unfortunately (or not) I bought my reader right after they came out, so the only model available was the 500. I have debated on whether or not to upgrade to a 505, 700 or change over to the Kindle. Can't seem to make up my mind, so, as the saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I guess I'll just stick with what I got until it breaks

My advice: stick with it as long as you like it. True the 505 and 700 have some nice features the 500 lacks but as long as you're enjoying it it might be best to stay with it. Plus there are (unsubstantiated) rumors that Sony will be releasing a new model this August.
