Downloading now.

You'd think they'd finally put out an Android app (since they've already written it for the Fire's).

I love this app on my iPad and now we finally have it for iPhone and iPod touch. I watched about 15 minutes of video on my touch 5th generation and it looks great. Ironically the app looks better on my iPad and iPod touch than it does on my Fire HD 7.

The higher pixel density certainly helps, but the smoothness of running video on iOS compared to Android and the much better color saturation is what makes the biggest difference.

Agreed. Android is a pretty big market, surprised Amazon is ignoring this.

Amazon also ignores the Kindle for Android app. It is the worst of the apps.

Exactly, pixel density actually plays a minor role in moving images, usually making the smooth motion more difficult to achieve. Most TV sets are less than 100 dpi, many are well under closer to 50 and they work just fine at the standard viewing distances. Holding it close to your face does need a bit higher dpi.
