Alexander McCall Smith has some clever titles:
The unbearable lightness of scones Friends, Lovers, Chocolate Blue shoes and happiness Tea time for the traditionally built The Dog who came in from the cold Unusual uses for olive oil The two and a half pillars of wisdom |

"When You Were A Tadpole and I Was A Fish" by Martin Gardner (I believe that was originally a line from the poem "Evolution" by Langdon Smith)

I haven't read that, but I'm sure I hate the book.
As for my nominee(s): I've never read the book, nor have I seen the movie; in fact, I don't even know what the plot is about. But I've always love the name A Clockwork Orange (by Anthony Burgess). Moving slightly into more modern times (and towards my favourite genre), I also like the names A Game of Thrones (by George R.R. Martin) and The Blade Itself (by Joe Abercrombie). |

I like Sometimes A Great Notion by Ken Kesey.
It comes from Goodnight Irene by Leadbelly: Sometimes I live in the country Sometimes I live in the town Sometimes I get a great notion To jump into the river an’ drown |

Strictly speaking of titles, I love
The Monkey That Would Not Kill by Henry Drummond I have the book, but haven't read it yet. Every time I look at the title, I smile. |

Not a book but the movie title "Requiem for a Dream" stuck with me for the longest time. Not sure why, it's not overly poetic and it sounds a bit broken up but it has an abstract sort of substance. Paradoxes are appealing.
On a less serious note, "The nymphos of Rocky Flats" has to be a heavy weight contender. |
