A very nice day -- sun through scattered clouds, a breeze, and temps in the upper 70s.

Attention! Attention please! It is OFFICIALLY fall in NC! How do I know, you ask?
1. I woke up cold (took the quilted bed spread off the bed in May) 2. Sammie cat, the older plump cat, who spent the summer lying comatose on the carpet in a pool of sunlight, got off her butt and was found on the table, looking out the front door sidelight ... AWAKE! And, the clincher? Stella AND Sammie sat beside the closet where the cat toys are stored - and BOTH wailed at the top of their lungs for me to play with them! And Sammie actually played! Oh .... and it was 56 F this morning (but you can never trust the thermometer) And, we're having our last dose of summer on Sunday (86 F) - then the bottom drops out of the temps .... [good thing I invested in those Muk-Luks!] Last edited by poohbear_nc; 09-20-2014 at 10:00 AM. |

I'm in New England (western Massachusetts) at the moment. It's mostly sunny, breezy, and cool (mid 50s, F). In a couple of weeks it'll be much the same, but the leaves will be changing, the hotels will be full, and the roads will be jammed with mostly out-of-state vehicles (leaf peepers). I lived near here for a few years.

Whew! Our last (allegedly) day of summer has struck today - 90 F & humid today - after a week of high 70's/low 80's F temps with dropping humidity. A cold front is supposed to arrive tonight, dropping temps back into the 70's for the entire week. I sure hope so - it was a distinct (and unpleasant) shock to step out the back door just now - it's hot!

Too nice a day to have been spent driving. But, it's a nice evening out there -- temps in the low 70s, a bit of a breeze, and some clouds overhead (which will, hopefully keep the temperatures from dropping too low).

It's a wild spring weekend here - we had the hottest September day ever on Saturday (34 degrees), then storms all day on Sunday.

Beautiful. Sitting here in front of an open window, enjoying the cool breeze. This next week is supposed to be mild and beautiful as well.

The weather where I live is predictable most days. Lots of sunshine and a clear sky. Temperature in the mid 30's (celsius), not much humidity.
