The affiliates used to check these firmware versions were: kobo, bestbuyca, fnac, beta, rakutenbooks, and the walmartca.

I just happen to notice that geek1011 who has 936 posts, posts exactly those word as well. And about a week or so ago this forum had a visit from a Vandal who faked exactly this kind of post. So just wondering.

That's why I'm asking. Perhaps you weren't aware of the regular visitor here who joins, posts a few things, then posts crap. The number of posts has a lot to do with someone's trustworthiness. That is all. Last week or two, he tried exactly this post. It has since been deleted, him banned.

I was browsing this board when the same kind of attack occurred. I've simply raised the question. No harm done. If it turns out the links are fine, the mods will delete all of these posts except the first. If the links are not good, I'll give myself a pat on the back.

Which is easy enough to do, and this whole 'debate' did not need to have happened.

I would suggest next time visiting the site geek1011 made where you can indeed see this version is valid.

You need not even depend on the link in this thread, it's a trivial task to find the last firmware update thread since Kobo has been releasing them like hotcakes recently, or find any of geek1011's posts as he links to the site in his signature.
