The updated recipe downloads many more images, for example, it downloads all the images from slideshows, the old recipe just skipped those images. That's not going to change. You can customize the recipe if you like and have it compress or rescale the images further by increasing
compress_news_images_auto_size in the recipe to whatever value works for you. |

Okay, I'll tinker with it a bit.

The "compress images" fix worked for a while, but now the recipe is back to generating 50 mb+ files that are too big to email.
I've tried customizing the recipe again with new values for "compress_news_images_auto_size" and "compress_news_images_max_size" but nothing seems to work. Any ideas? |

I have tried repeatedly to change the image size, and I am getting approximately half of the days it works due to Gmail's 25mb limit on emails. Is there anything we can do to fix this? I also saw in another post somewhere that you can change the content, but I cannot figure out how to change the sections the recipe fetches. Anyone figure out a fix to this?

Try deleting the recipe section that handles slideshows and expandable images. It worked for me and I still get the basic images on my Kindle.

So this worked for a couple of days, but now it stopped working again. It creates an error. Any tips or tricks?

New url needed in recipe
Actually it's a different issue now. The WSJ website changed its URL for "Today's Paper", so you'll need to update the recipe to use this: "http://www.wsj.com/itp/today" instead.
