If it's Carta, I'm in. Although I do wish someone would release a good 8" reader in the US.

They should have came with the larger screen. It would have sold, being their only updated device. Amazon folks crying for a larger screen would be tempted. That would push Amazon to release one. *sigh*

Goodereader.com says they are releasing two versions an 8 inch and a 6 inch. Look at this interesting tidbit on barnes and noble website an 8 inch stand... http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/8in-...roductInfoTabs

If it's Carta and runs a more recent version of Android (JellyBean at least), I may be tempted. But if it's just more of the same (Eclair), I won't bother.

Now that you mention Netronix, have you seen this? This Earl E-Ink tablet has been in the works for some time, and has had a number of delays. Apparently, they've switched from Onyx to Netronix as their E-Ink developer. If Earl ever sees the light of day, it would be a unique kind of E-Ink device. |

In terms of portability, the 6 inch seems to be the perfect size. I'm intrigued by an 8 inch reader solely because I use a fairly large font size and the extra screen space would be nice. Not sure I want to lug the larger reader around though.

If they do offer an 8 inch, I'll grab one. I want B&N to hang around. Hopefully this will give them the momentum they need.

I highly doubt the 8-inch version is eink. The two-way stand that B&N already sells is for the Samsung tablet and is meant to view a tablet in landscape. Per Nate's links on his site, the accessories listed for the new nook are two-way cover stands.
