Still, wanting some particular kind of content that might drive you to an iPad is a different then claiming there is a "lack of content" for any Android device, as some have said, would you agree? ApK |

This is why I've still kept my iPhone and apple TV. Android/google is not there in terms if content yet.

My Archos has a micro USB port which they claim can read USB memory sticks. Sadly it never recognized any of the ones I have. Lately I discovered that it does recognize my USB SD card reader and I can plug it into the adapter cable and watch videos saved on my full size SD cards. The trouble is that when I try to unmount them, there is no reaction from the machine. I then pull out the cable and all and it says "External device safe to remove", FOLLOWED by "External device removed unexpectedly". Now, Does the Galaxy Tab have this kind of problem. I mean can it unmount external devices correctly with its USB-OTG support in ICG? |

Thanks for clarifying that Harry. I had my eye on the new Archos 70b IT and the Nexus 7 both of which are lower in price, but I am convinced now that paying a bit more to get properly functioning SD card and USB slots are worth paying extra for. Not to mention a better display and battery life.
I was also looking at the iPad and Asus Transformer Prime tablet but realize that the extra size and weight means that I won't be taking one around with me. I agree with you that 7" is a good compromise for watching videos. |

Other than the ports, the Nexus 7 beats the Archos in: Processing power, the Nexus has double the RAM, the screen on the Nexus is higher resolution and you have pure Android, so you can get faster updates for sure. And a ton of other stuff. If you need the ports than the Galaxy tab 2 is probably the best right now, if you don't need them, the Nexus 7 is best on the market. But if you're not happy with the N7 maybe just wait a couple months for another company to improve. |

Maybe I'm missing something, but I have an iPhone, I only carry 200 songs on it, and maybe 5 books, I can sync something else if I need to. I don't need to have ALL my content with me ALL the time... I think with a Nexus 7 w/16gb (which is what I ordered two days ago), it would allow me plenty of space. No one device does it all nor do I expect it to. My brother has the Galaxy Tab 2 7" he likes it, and boasts about it's expandability, but then again, it IS only a 2 core device....

Not sure what you mean by this exactly. You seem to be saying you have an iPhone and are happy with it. If you don't feel you are missing something from your device, then you're probably not.
Or do you mean to say you're missing an understanding that other people's needs and wants may differ from your own? |

Well... what I'm missing is why does it HAVE to have expandability? For daily use, how much memory do you actually need? I just sold my galaxy tab 7" (original wifi) on eBay for $175!!! it had 16gb of memory and a 32gb sd card, but I never needed that much memory on a daily basis.... I mean if you go on vacation, how many movies do you NEED to have with you? and MOST hotels offer free wifi... So, I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about not being expandable when it's about 8 times faster than the competition (Galaxy Tab 2 7")

I'm not sure what the connection is between free wifi and storage space? Could you elaborate?
Personally, I work away from home a lot, and find the ability to store a reasonable amount of video on my Galaxy Tab 2 7" to be a beneficial feature. But sure, 16GB is enough for many people, although 8GB really isn't, I think. |

The places I stay in don't have WiFi; so how do I play movies?

Most people are probably only going to have a few GB of stuff storage in the Cloud - free Cloud services typically offer you 2-5GB. That's really not much compared with even 16GB of internal storage, is it?
