An Easy Thing is now at the top of my TBR list after reading about Paco Ignacio Taibo II on Wikipedia and seeing that the book has 98 Goodreads ratings with a 4.1 average.
I most appreciate MR for all the excellent writers, new to me, I've found on the threads. |

Yes, this one sounds like the Soho Crime type of book, which I really like. I like reading a mystery with a background in another country and different culture.

Thanks for introducing the term 'Soho Crime' - it's new to me. That's exactly what I love. Karin Fossum's books have inspired lots of time on Google Earth and Wikipedia learning more about Norway. I'm looking forward to reading Dust Devils, today's Amazon freebie from Roger Smith since discovering Deon Meyer's excellent South African mysteries featuring Benny Griessel.

Soho Crime is an imprint of publisher Soho Press, who specializes in this type of books. They were bought out by Random House but so far still allowed to function pretty much independently. Kobo has a lot of them and coupons can be used.

I can particularly recommend the Garry Disher series (Australian). Their other imprints are good, too. |
