Questions about Oberon Covers
I just bought my mominlaw a Nook classic. I have been in lust with the oberon cover for a while, but they do not support my reader(prs-505). I also bought her an oberon cover
My questions: how do these covers hold up over time? Do the corner holders get weak, or break? DOes the reader (for any model) become floppy? Is the reader protected pretty good if it is carried in a purse? Is it easy to fold back so one can read with one hand? Which light works best with this cover? Basically I am looking to hear from someone who has had an oberon cover for a while and give feedback about how it lasts. Thanks |

I velcro'ed my Sony 650 into a Small Journal cover; the regular strength velcro holds it in just fine, I'd need to pull on it with some force to dislodge the reader.
It doesn't really fold back like that, no. Nor do I have a light for it. |

The quality is fantastic... It folds back easily, and it's thick enough to offer really good protecting... It does soften over time, like leather does, making it a bit more flexible.
It comes with 'spare parts', like the elastic to close the cover. I've only had mine for about a year for my kindle, and I expect it to last until I want another colour or pattern... I think my kindle will die, before the cover... Quote:

I would ask Oberon about a Sony cover as they offered to do special orders in the past even though they are no longer carried in their catalog.
I have my Sony 600 Velcroed into a Oberon Kindle2 Velcro cover. I think the small Journal shown on the other post looks really good and fits better. You can check for used Oberons over on Kindle Boards on Buy/Sell/Trade. Last edited by luvshihtzu; 12-20-2010 at 04:05 AM. |

I've had a K1 Oberon cover for a year and a half and a K2 cover for about 9 months. both have done extensive traveling, been shoved in purses and backpacks. the K1 cover went skiing quite a bit in a Camelbak. the K2 gets handled pretty much every day, it is still almost like brand new., and yes, you can fold the cover back, you can also slide your hand into the flap behind it
