ePub nicht gleich ePub?
Hallo
Ich hab mir ein Buch von Libri runtergeladen und musste feststellen das ich den nur mit dem Adobe reader öffnen kann, ausserdem hat das Buch einen großen Rand wirklich schlimm, sowas bin ich von Büchern die ich von beam kaufe nicht gewöhnt.

Aber ist ist ja bald Weihnachten, dann kannst du dein Libri Buch "auspacken". :-)
Dann klappt es auch mit dem FB Reader.

Auch bei Epub mit DRM habe ich teilweise große Unterschiede im Lesekomfort bemerkt. In letzter Zeit nicht mehr so oft, aber vor einem Jahr war es teilweise ein Glücksspiel ob manns gut lesen kann oder nicht.

ePub ist eben nur das Format, und sagt nichts über das Ergebnis aus.
Kann man etwa mit HTML vergleichen. Da sagt das Format auch nichts über den Inhalt aus.

Es kommt darauf an was der Autor (oder das Tool mit dem er sein ePub erstellt) daraus macht.

Es gibt keinen Standard, ich mußte bei Nachfragen feststellen, daß in einem großen Verlagshaus nicht mal ein E-Reader existierte, um die Ergebnisse der von einem kleinen Unternehmen gelieferten Ware testen zu können. Das machen die dann höchstens am PC mit ADE und da kann der Rand so groß sein wie er will, das fällt dort nicht negativ auf.

Bleibt nur den Inhalt "auszupacken" (interessante Umschreibung) und mit dem FBReader lesen, der alle Ränder ignoriert. Komplizierter wäre es, über Sigil und Calibre die Ränder zu ändern, um mit dem ADE vernünftiger lesen zu können.

Absolut ärgerlich ist, daß man bei Libri, wo ja jedes Buch mit DRM versehen ist, auch solche, die es bei der Konkurrenz ohne gibt, keine Proben herunterladen kann. Manchmal hilft eine Reklamation, dann bekommt man sein Geld zurück oder der Dienstleister des Verlages ändert gar die Formatierung. Letztlich ist das ein Aufwand, der in keinem Verhältnis mehr zur gekauften Ware steht, da kann man sich die Bücher fast schon selbst scannen und umwandeln.

Das seltsame ist, je kleiner man die Schrift wählt, je kleiner wird der Rand nur müsste man dann mit der Lupe lesen. Leider hab ich das Buch nicht ohne DRM gefunden hab extra bei Beam nachgeschaut. Man lernt eben täglich dazu.

Der mitwachsende Rand ist ein Fehler, den kann man tatsächlich bei Libri reklamieren.

Da ist der Rand in Prozent angegeben und nicht in Pixeln. Resultat: Rahmen ist dynamisch, je nach Schriftgrösse und Bildschirm. Das kann man wohl schwerlich als Fehler brandmarken. Ist nur Reflow auch im Rahmen.

Wenn man auf größere Schriften angewiesen ist, geht bei dynamischer Vergrößerung oft viel zu viel Rand verloren. Ich konnte das mehrfach erfolgreich reklamieren, wobei es Libri irgendwann leid war und mich an die Verlage weiterreichte, was dann in einem Fall sogar zu einer Korrektur des Buches führte, in anderen bekam ich mein Geld zurück. Ich war es auch irgendwann leid und habe dann den Rand und die Dynamik entfernt.

Ich hab den Fall an Libri geschrieben und mir wurde geantwortet, ich zitiere: Wir vermuten eher , das es an der Konstellation mit dem PocketBook liegt.
Für mich bedeutet das, ich kaufe kein eBook mehr bei Libri.
