Hanvon announces 5 new ebook readers

I missed this announcement in the mad rush that is CES. Better late than never.

from the press release:
Quote:
Debuting today, Hanvon’s WISEreader eBook readers will be available in five, six, eight and 9.7 inch displays, and come in a wide range of categories. Hanvon’s own electromagnetic touch tablet technology allows users to make annotations directly on the eBook page and save them on the device in clear handwriting and detailed annotations. The WISEreader also includes integrated wireless technology (Wi-Fi and EDGE/GSM) allowing users to download eBooks without having to connect to a PC.
Other details mentioned in the press release include a 95% market share in China, unique touchscreen technology, and a claim to being the second largest ebook reader maker in the world. For more detail you can visit their site at www.hanvon.com.

Hanvon had 4 models on display at CES, and they are planning to bring out 5 more models some time in 2010. All 4 current models have support for Adobe DRM. Good stuff, thanks Nate.
I just wish some of these companies would pay a proper translator or at least not use Google translate for product descriptions:

I couldn't locate any of these new devices on the Hanvon site yet. I wonder what the button set up is in the lower right of the N628 and N800; kind of looks like a fingerpad but it seems like some button inside it?

Thanks m-reader.
I still only see the four currently out models there. Perhaps my wording wasn't clear. I meant I couldn't see any news/information about the five unreleased models on the site (even in their own news section).

I had the chance to check out the N520 when I was in China last year and it was a gorgeous little machine but at the time it only had a chinese language menu.

Really want one of these now.. the price was really good and it was really light, hopefully they have released these new ones in China or will do so soon!

I looked at their Chinese language website and couldn't find any of the new models either.

Not really impressed by the range of supported book formats. Only one of those models (the largest and presumably the most expensive) support Epub? And one of them only supports Txt, Pdf, and HTML?
