WH Smith - 60% Off Top 100 eBooks
WH Smith currently have 60% off their top 100 e-books. So I'm just putting a couple of items in my basket. . . . . .

Well it just happens that I retrieved an e-mail from them in my spam box this morning. Among other things (they are changing some things on their ebooks site), it said the following:

It's possible WHSmith shed it's partnership with Overdrive. I see no mention of it on their website so it's just a guess. If I'm correct then that's the new contractual issues they mentioned.

Yes, it could be. They mentioned migrating my account to the new web site, and also that after 22nd September any mobi books on my old bookshelf would no longer be available.

I am in New Zealand and rang them last night as I could not get it to accept my order. They told me that they can no longer sell e-books to those outside the UK (unless you are lucky enough to have a UK credit card). Very disappointing as they have a great selection at good prices.

It makes you wonder how Amazon and WHSmith can sell ebooks so much less than rest of the world. Who is taking the cut?

Does anyone know what would happen if you use a either a travel card or a Visa Debit card? Neither has a billing address as both a debit cards, one pre-paid the other effectively an eft-pos card (that is a Visa).
I presume you could put any billing address you liked with these, and they could not be checked. Do you need to have a physical UK address as well with WH Smith? |

Very disappointing. Besides great selection and good prices they also have outstanding customer service.

I have just bought some books with my Dutch credit card so I can confirm that this still works. |
