Came across this sub $60.00 device that lists e-book support in its specs. The company responded to my e-mail for further details on format support and was informed that it supports txt files. It comes in 4gb and 8gb models with expansion via mini sd cards. It has a 2.8 mm screen and is intended as a cheap alternative to iTouch.

I meant 2.8 inches screen.
