Nicknames - capital vs. small letters

Do you think a forum nickname should begin with a capital letter, or maybe the Internet permits more freedom in this respect?

It's really up to personal taste. I see no reason for a capital.

It's a matter of personal taste, I suppose. I prefer a capital. e.e. cummings may be of a different opinion.

I'm one of those old fogies who tends to use proper English even when they text, although Swipe and autocorrect do their best to keep it from being too propel.

I always follow proper capitalization rules when referring to my real name, but a nickname is just a nickname.

How are we supposed to know it's the first letter of a nickname unless it starts with a capital? My english teacher would be agast. [OK she already is]

I prefer to use proper English unless I'm speaking, writing or typing.
