question about reading on the fire

Hi in the next month I will take the leap into a 7 inch tablet. I hear a new fire is in the works and am wondering, is the reading experience basically the same as on any other android tablet? For instance is there anything special about a kindle fire's kindle reader that I would not find on the reader on say a nexus 7?

Just wondering because obviously all things being equal I would prefer a full android app store experience which from what I gather the kindle fire (old and presumable the new one too) do not offer. Thanks for listening.

No, the Kindle reading app is the standard Android app. Nothing different about it. The difference between the Fire and a standard Android tablet is really ease of access to your Amazon content. If you want to use the device primarily as an Amazon content consumption device (which is really the main use Amazon target it for) it's a lot easier to access your content on the Fire than on other devices. If that's not your primary use-case, you may be better off with a more generic device.

If you like to read and listen to the audiobook at the same time, the non-basic Fire's are able to do that. Also, if you are able to stream Amazon video content. Some of which are free for prime members.
