Is there an intermediate html output?

Hi, there are some PRC eBooks which, when converted to LRF, results in output which is not well-formatted (e.g. double blank lines in between paragraphs, or centered instead of justified text). This is obviously due to bad coding in the original eBook formats and not due to calibre's conversion process. So, is there an intermediate HTML file that calibre produces that I can modify to fix the formatting? If there is, where can I find this output? If there isn't, how can I fix the formatting of a PRC eBook before the final conversion to LRF?
