Running Calibre on a Router error

I would like to run calibre content server on my ASUS WL500gV2 router. The firmware of the router is a linux in fact. It can mount two USB harddiscs. My disc is mounted in /tmp/mnt/disca_3.
I installed python and copied the binaries from my Linux notebook to /opt/calibre on the router. When I try to run /opt/calibre/bin/calibre-server --with-library /tmp/mnt/disca_3/library/ I just get the following error message:

Quote:
/opt/calibre/bin/calibre-server: line 1: ELF: not found
/opt/calibre/bin/calibre-server: line 2: syntax error: unexpected "("
Does anybody have a clue, what could be the problem?

Routers probably do not run X.
The disk attachment is probably intended for file server usage.

Well, first of all, sorry for the hijack, I just didn't realize.

In regards to X system, I belive the content server doesn't need the X, at least Kovid says: "as far as I know, the calibre content server no longer requires X to function", see here .The disks attached to the router are easily accessible via Samba, FTP or NFS. I plan using this server only within my house even if the router's webserver can be made public.

did you installed the correct architecture (MIPS or what ever is on your router) or simply the PC version (i386 or so)? Please check, because this ELF not found looks like this.

I just copied my Linux PC version to the router, but it's true, the router uses MIPS. Is there a MIPS version of Calibre? Haven't found any so far.

I would assume there is no MIPS version ready compiled. You have to setup a cross compilation environment and compile it by your own. This is the same as every embedded Linux setup.
