"Collgen" an on-board Collection Generator. Release

Recently, I am developing a On Board "Collection Generator".

You can organize your books into folders and press a launchpad hot-key. Then, it will generate a full Collection and restart your kindle. After your kindle restarted. Your collection and file is well organized base on your file structure.

Right now, it support includes amazon azw, mobi, pdf, txt. I don't know what else could be used.

Collgen v0.1

This is a on-board collection generator. You need to put it in
your kindle and run on your kindle system. Very easy and clean.

It your the directory names in your documents directory to build

Great idea. This seems like it would work as a fix for the annoying problem of the Kindle deleting collections whenever the device registers.

Is it possible to make this run on certain events, like with every reboot and perhaps after each device registration?

Thank you for your work. It's running excellently here.

@chadananda you can call the script directly from the command line, so running it from cron should be no problem. Running it every reboot might be unwise though, as one of the last things it does is restart the gui.

edit: That said, I don't seem to be able to get cron to obey an @reboot command. Perhaps as a workaround run collgen.sh once or twice a day, at times when the device is rarely in use? I have immediately after fetching newspapers in mind.

There is no need to restart if you can just update the collection index.

dbus-send --system /default com.lab126.powerd.resuming int32:1

dbus-send doesn't update the collections afaik. The framework restart doesn't disrupt ssh, unlike the gui restart option.

@OP, are you willing to add the source for the two binaries to the opening post?
