Still free in the UK right now.
Thanks for posting this. I missed it last time, but have some of the later books (I think). |

The third in the series is the only one that Phoenix hasn't had free, I think.

Given that it's most likely going to come down as a KF8 version and given how bad Pheonix's ePub code is, I have very low expectations for this to actually be worth bothering with.

--> JSWolf - Both of the books look fine to me, I checked them in Calibre.
-You've already mentioned your concerns in the thread I linked to for the free Phoenix Pick (Book #2). Many people on that thread report that the book is fine for them. I suggest for people to go ahead and decide for themselves, if they are interested in the book, and download and check it for themselves. It is available in many different formats and DRM-free. |

The problem is that whoever at Pheonix that is making their eBooks just doesn't know how to do a good job.

--I wish the only problems were just with formatting with some books, the ocr errors with complete words changed from the print edition (an example I can think of is "full" moon to "fun" moon) upset me the most. If I don't have a paper copy to compare to, I just sit and wonder at times if something might be wrong and I can't just go and check it. Also, lack of proofreading, obvious grammar errors, (not to mention just plain bad writing) etc., etc. These problems are rampant, I'm frustrated and I've only been reading ebooks for about 3 months (other than the occasional pdf on my computer before that). But, I've decided the benefits outweigh the negatives, though I wish the same standards applied to paper editions were applied to ebook versions (maybe in the future?).
--I guess everyone will just have to decide what they will or won't tolerate in any particular ebook, or if they're willing to change or convert it if necessary. |

Some people are seeing problems with Phoenix (Jon) and some people are seeing no problems with Phoenix (me). One shouldn't complain when the books are *free*.
