Calibre exe deleted by Norton Internet Security 2010

I just installed NIS 2010 yesterday and a new feature called SONAR is on by default. It decides that the calibre-complete.exe is behaving "suspiciously" and it deleted the exe.

I wasn't able to repair, and have had to uninstall and re-install. All is well now, but I can't find a way to get SONAR to allow Calibre. I have emailed Symantec for more info.

If you install NIS 2010, turn off SONAR !!!

Don't install Norton Security... last time I did it, it decided all files in Windows system folder with Polish characters are suspicious and deleted them, so I had to reinstall the whole system. Not touching anything Norton since then.

Had similar experience with Norton. But the security they deliver outways for me the problems

And I have heaps of new friends in the callcentre by now

Norton came with one of my new computers. It decided that IE was suspicious and deleted it.

You get equivalent security with a lot less hassle using BitDefender. I used to use Norton but several years ago moved to BitDefender and have been very happy with the move. Norton, BitDefender, and Kaspersky are consistently the highest rated security programs by various security rating groups.

Sigh last year it was Kaspersky that didn't like calibre. And AVG that silently prevented the content server from running.

So far, the best one out there is Comodo. It's not had a problem and when I tell it to ignore something, it does it.

Norton is one of the worst and it slows down your computer very noticeably.

I did have Norton installed way back when. It was no end of trouble. Then I removed it and finally got my wife to see the light and now we no longer have anything to do with Norton products.

After playing the field, I returned to Norton a couple of years ago and have found them to be about the best security program to date. And my Norton plays well with calibre.

The last decent program they came out with was Norton Commander.

I've been using Comodo and have been unable to get the content server to work. Any suggestions?

It did BTW used to work with Nortons. My next step was going to be going back.
