Calibre + Kindle 2 problems, cannot send books to device

Hi, I'm having problems with calibre when trying to send books to my Kindle.

I'm running calibre (0.8.51) on a 64bit Debian wheezy and I got it from the repos.


The situation is the following:

- Calibre detects my Kindle and I'm able to access the internal memory.
- When I try to send books to the device I get the following error:



I'm including the output from the debugger.

The message implies that no books (with format ?) were highlighted when you clicked 'Send'

9.23 is the current, you are way old, but that should not cause your problem.

Historically repository versions are not supported. You might consider doing a binary install as outlined on Calibre's download page.

As I said before, the program is detecting my Kindle. I'm able to access the internal memory and see which books are stored. However, when I try to send something to the device, it says there's no device(althouth it has already detected the device before).

If it still fails, look carefully at any plugboard and Save To Device settings for your Kindle model. Corruption may have struck.

Just for the record, I was having the exact same problem. Also running Debian Wheezy 64bit and Calibre 0.8.52 from repositories. DoctorOhh's suggestion solved it for me.
