Android reader app review forum??

Hi, I wonder if there could be a forum here on MobileRead for discussing and reviewing the applications that get installed on Android devices (e.g., the Nook or Kindle app, as opposed to the Nook and Kindle hardware devices).

I use an Android device primarily so I can use books from either service, but both the Nook and Kindle Android apps could use improvement. Since there doesn't seem to be another outlet for this topic, how about one here?

Hi suobs and welcome to MobileRead.

There is a special forum titled Feedback that is monitored by the moderators where these kind of suggestions get a much better response.

I like your suggestion, but in fairness if those reader apps are available on iOS, wouldn't you want to include those users as well?

I'd like to see a forum for realistic user discussion and critique of the apps. Those blurbs sound like they were written by the mfrs! For example the Kindle Synch to Last Page Read thing has problems, not the least of which is losing your place if you look forward in the book. Once you've done that you can't reset it. Amazon and B&N don't have a way to review the apps (only the devices) so there's no public forum pushing for improvements. I say it's time to really figure out which app is best.

Some apps already have threads in the Android Device area, it seems to work fine, I don't see why that can't continue. Is there really a need for a separate section?

That said the best place to ask for and discuss new areas to MR is the feedback forum. Your request will be seen easier by the powers that be.

You can reset furthest read on your Manage Your Kindle page on Amazon's website.

The Kindle & Nook (and Kobo) apps have gotten plenty of discussion in the past the the Kindle and Nook forum sections. Those sections aren't just for discussion of the hardware devices.
