Derive old Recipe file from ePub - possible?

So, my Surface Pro 2 was sketchy and I ended up trading it in for a new one. That being the case, I had to backup stuff instore - and missed some stuff. I'll add now that I'm on Windows 8.Latest, and latest Calibre download, and I read on a Kobo Aura HD. I was able to copy/paste the Calibre2 folder, my Libraries, and Library backup folders. Missed my custom recipe files - I'm guessing they were in AppData, which I didn't back up? Anyway, for some reason built-in Instapaper recipe (w. Cal.2.26) isn't working, and as I have old EPUBs using the recipe I used previously, I wonder is there some way I can derive that recipe from the ePub? I'd similarly like to do the same for Scientific American Mind - a recipe I'd altered and have since lost the knowledge/time to do so again - a for which I still have ePubs.
