Och, ich war nur neugierig was bei so einem trickreichen Buch passiert. Das das Ergebnis sehr durchwachsen ausfallen würde war mir vorher klar. Siehe das Darstellungschaos bei den technisch verwandten Browsern.

Das der FBreader macht was er will wusste ich. (Wird ja oft genug als Feature erwähnt.) Aber das der CoolReader einfach abraucht hat mich überrascht. Das er nicht alles darstellen kann hatte ich auch schon herausgefunden, doch Bücher ohne zu große Ansprüche kriegt er ausreichend manierlich hin.

Zur Zeit habe ich einige weitere, vom Naturalismus beeinflusste feministische Romane (um 1900), in Arbeit (Google-OCR-Korrekturstube):

Gabriele Reuter: "Aus guter Familie" und "Ellen von der Weiden"

Helene Böhlau: "Der Rangierbahnhof" und "Das Recht der Mutter"

Leider wird es mit der Dritten im Bunde - Clara Viebig - noch etwas dauern, da ihre Bücher erst 2023 gemeinfrei werden.

Hinsichtlich der Bearbeitung von Fraktur-Scanvorlagen kann ich tesseract absolut empfehlen. Eine kurze aber prägnante Einleitung findet sich u.a. hier

Zwar gehe ich davon aus, dass dieses Programm hier bereits bekannt sein sollte, ein neuerliches Erwähnen sollte jedoch nicht schaden

Warum, kriegst du Prozente ????

Die Benutzerschnittstelle ist grauenhaft, das verbessern des Trainings der Schrifterkennung setzt mehrjähriges Informatikstudium voraus und die Macke, hinter jeder Zeile einen Umbruch einzubauen ist ihm wohl nicht abzugewöhnen.

Somit ist Tessaract im Freewarebereich keineswegs das Beste OCR-Programm, es ist das Einzigste ...

Wenn ich mich nicht ganz und gar irre, dann hab ich vor kurzem hier irgendwo einen Erfahrungsbericht veröffentlicht ...

Das ist nicht von der Hand zu weisen. Das Trainig ist wirklich sehr schwierig.

Wobei dieses Verhalten glaube ich, erst mit der Version 3.02 so extrem geworden ist. Bei der 3.01 scheint nicht hinter jeder Zeile ein Umbruch zu kommen.

Scheint tatsächlich so zu sein, da auch sämtliche mir bekannten Frontends auf tesseract aufsetzen.

- Paul Heyse: Fortsetzung der Novellen-Edition
Der zweite Band wird wiederum ca. 28 Texte umfassen; darunter nun auch "Die Reise nach dem Glück", "Die Stickerin von Treviso", "Vetter Gabriel" u.a.
Ein weiteres, ähnlich umfangreiches eBook soll verschiedene Novellenbände enthalten, wie z.B. "Troubadournovellen", darin auch "Die Dichterin von Carcassone".

Bei alldem heißt es: entweder scannen und OCRn
oder: Ab in die "Google-OCR-Korrektur-Stube"! (Hrzl. Gruß an frodok!)

Puh, habe heute eine größere Sitzung hinter mir. Habe mein vor längerem begonnen Andersen-Projekt endlich beendet.

1. Bei den Märchen fehlte noch die Verlinkungen der Fußnoten. (Fußnoten sind echt die Pest. Jedenfalls wenn man sie manuell in Sigil bearebitet.)

2. Noch 3 Bücher, die nicht Märchen sind. zum auch mal kennenlernen was er noch so geschreben hat. Da hatte ich bei Gutenberg.de geschaut was es gibt, und was davon ich nicht anderswo als ePub finde.

Zum Hochladen habe ich heute keine Lust mehr. Morgen ist auch noch ein Tag. Woll?

Das Buch stand auch nicht auf meiner Liste, denn da gibt es ja hier im Forum bereits die Ausgabe von weatherwax.

Wie so vieles bei denen ... Adolf Stolzes Novellen hören nach einem Drittel des Buches auf, somit liegt das Ding jetzt bei mir und dreht Warteschleifen.

Richtig. Sogar mit explizierten Fußnoten. Nach einigen Stichproben scheint es allerdings nicht, dass der GB-Text korrekturgelesen worden ist.

Nachdem Otto Weiningers "Charakter und Geschlecht", ein fürwahr niederträchtiges, aber nichtsdestoweniger wieder einmal höchst interessantes Werk eines, der sich - ein Hochbegabter - mit 23 die Kugel gab, nunmehr in GB erschienen ist, darf eine eBook-Version sicher nicht zu lange warten lassen.
Sie hat aber einige Tücken, von denen die ca. 120 Fußnoten noch die geringsten sind: zusätzlich zu diesen hat Weininger einen Anhang mit einem halben Tausend Zusätzen hinzugefügt, die auf Seiten/Zeilen verweisen; hier muss die 19. Auflage herangezogen und jeder einzelne Zusatz überprüft und im eBook an entsprechender Stelle als Link verbraten werden.
Und schließlich: Weininger schöpft aus dem Vollen seiner humanistischen Bildung und zitiert auf Altgriechisch, was die Taste hält. In diesen Teilen ist die GB-Vorlage so fehlerhaft, dass hier jeder Buchstabe einzeln geprüft werden muss.

Das alles zusammen dauert also etwas.
