@deadite66
looks nice, you ordered one with a "solid" flap, customized? I also ordered one from thepouch, but mine is just neoprene and my flap is much smaller - I guess there is no much protection in mine, except for dust, scratches... |

Before I returned my Iliad for service, I found an old Franklin planner. I removed the binder and the Iliad fit perfect. The planner has a solid front and back that will do a decent job protecting it inside a laptop bag with other items.

my cover
Hi, I bought a daily planner called "DayRunner 488-287" at OfficeDepot (I'm not sure this item from eBay is the same.). It fits quite well into my iLiad. I velcroed its rear side and recycled the cover pad from the original box. It's portable and easily accessible to any ports or stylus. I attached the photos. What do you think?

@seaview
Very nice work! I wonder though if the iLiad dock iRex keeps rumbling about needs that U shaped spot in the back that now has a strip of velcro in it? |

My 5-Minute Solution
I meant to post these earlier, but RL prevailed. I made a simple cover for my iLiad with a leather steno pad cover purchased from Borders. Reluctant to adhere velco directly to the device, I opted for an thick elastic strap to keep it in place. I hope to locate my serger to sew it on later, but have used a velcro closure for the strap. It works fine for my current needs though. I've even dropped it from a short distance with no apparent damage.
Has anyone heard if iRex will offer a case/cover? I have cover-envy from the Sony Reader. |

http://www.tuff-as-nuts.com/index.html will sell you a leather portfolio for the iLiad for US$99. I'm going to hold off ordering one until I have the thing and decide just what I want. They'll probably do most any sort of variation on the slip case, too. I'm happy with my Treo holster from them.

My DIY Iliad cover
Here is my take on the DIY Iliad cover..
Features include: 1. Hard front cover to protect the screen 2. Full access to ports while in cover 3. Flip top design to allow easy access to flip bar 4. Very light, adds almost no weight to the Iliad 5. Easy access to stylus 6. Also functionas as a stand (see photo's) 7. Low profile.. Time taken to complete approximately 4-5 hours including buying materials. Last edited by realityloop; 04-22-2007 at 10:22 AM. |
