.EBK format

I have a number of older Japanese ebooks in .EBK format. I'd like to convert them for use on my Kindle, but cannot find any solutions online despite extensive searching. I have one possible command-line + perl (on Windows, not Linux) lead, but I wonder if there's a better solution out there.

Any thoughts?

Also, is there a chance that Calibre will support .ebk in the future?

According to eHow, there's a script that converts .EBK into HTML (Win, I guess). From there, you can convert the HTML to your preferred format.
