'Porn' just didn't have an expensive enough marketing team.

I think the only difference is as CWatkinsNash stated, Porn is what they object to and erotica is what they accept. Personally I think as long as its consensual, between adults, no one is hurt and there are no farm animals involved, then do as you wish, knock yer self out. But don't expect everyone to enjoy it or agree with it. I'm old enough to remember the detective magazines from the 60's and 70's with the "Erotic" stories in them and pictures of women nude but with the black bar across their eyes. (This could be a Canadian only thing). I never have figured out what the bar was for, I know it's supposed to protect their identity, but really once you have seen the rest, what's the point? My point you ask? Well, Playboy showed everything, but didn't have the stories and were never classed porn by anyone in the States or Canada, the Detective magazines had stories but didn't show everything, mostly, but were called porn and banned. I know what you're thinking, the stories were porn, well not that I remember, but then again I don't claim to buy Playboy for the articles. One more thing, I don't think "Amazon backs down on gay porn ebook burning, shock horror probe!" is really the appropriate title for this thread, something like, "Amazon admits they had a knee jerk reaction to alleged "Gay Porn" and has quietly replaced it on the shelves, Amazon once again saves the world from porn" <tongue firmly in Cheek> Cheers |
