Alfred Edward Woodley Mason (7 May 1865 Dulwich, London - 22 November 1948 London) was a British author and politician. He is best remembered for his 1902 novel The Four Feathers.

Inspector Hanaud of the French Surete attempts to solve the murder of an English woman and the disappearance of an American girl before there is another killing.

Many thanks for putting this in the library: I am part way through it at the moment and enjoying it. I discovered a glitch in it, which you may have found and corrected: Chapters 4 and 5 are in the wrong order. I started the chapter and found severe problems with continuity, but soon found the cause!
