Dingo 1.10 Upgrade on full-sized eDGe

Just downloaded and installed the 1.10 upgrade. The download speed is very fast compared to previous system upgrade downloads. Installs nicely as we have come to expect from Entourage software upgrades. It does not seem to include one of the nicest features (to me anyway) of 1.10 on the Pocket eDGe, that being the use of book cover icons for .pdf books instead of the generic pdf symbol.

I stand corrected.... new files added to the library come up with the nice book covers as icons. Anything in the library keeps the old generic icon. Makes me think about deleting and re-adding to the library. I like the book covers so much, it's almost worth it.

Thanks for the observation about the Library book covers. I got the update only this morning since the last ttime I checked yesterday was early in the evening.

With Dingo 1.10, the large eDGe now gets the nice full-screen update wizard that was introduced on the Pocket eDGe. This means users no longer will download the same update multiple times (and not realizing they have to "install" it) and wonder why their firmware version remains unchanged

Kudos for enTourage for making this important change!

Yeah but then you lose your annotations.

What we need is a button in the library that will rescan selected books (repeat the procedure that is done when you first add them to the library) without afecting annotations.

Excellent suggestion, fgruber. Send it to www.entourageedge.com/support and see what they say.

Is it possible to save the annotations and then restore them after the upgrade?

Screen timeout

We used to have a choise for 15, 30 sec and 1, 2, 5, 10 ,15, 30 minutes.
Now limited to max 5 minutes.
What other suprises can we expect?

If you install MySettings, you still get the 10 minute and "never" timeouts. The Power Widget also has an "always on" (presentation) toggle.

Keyboard

Fantastic: tap and hold a letter and you have the choise of international letters. (It wasn't there before, was it?)

I kind of think this is new. I discovered this on my PE prior to the 1.10 update on the EE.

Library bookcovericons

It's a nice feature, but on my eDGe I see the book with only half of the cover. Is this a bug?
(Maybe the PE-icons on the EE?)

On my PE I think I'm seeing the same - but more like the cover is squeezed to the left side, taking up about 1/4 of the icon width. I thought it was just a quirk of the image stored inside the ebook as the cover, or something.

I note similar, but just with EPUB files. My PDF files seem centered and have mostly clean icons. Maybe it's just how Epubs work since they don't have hard "margins"?
