gradually increasing refresh rate

Hi,

I recently put a series of .txt books, converted from .lit with ABC, onto my PRS-500. As I'm reading these books, the refresh rate is normal at the beginning, but increases throughout the book, so that by page 200 or so, it's more than a minute. Almost like the reader has to do more calculations or load more data for each page or something. It's very annoying and makes it very hard to read a book. This has never happened before in the two years I've had the reader.

Any ideas what might be going wrong?

Use Calibre to convert them into LRF instead.
