Romance... FOR GUYS!?
Yup, just what the title says. What? A guy can't like romance?
Honestly- I'll even take it if it's a subplot in something. But the two main things I"m looking for are: Centered on the Guy's Point of View. (Hey, being a guy, I identify with guys. Sorry if that sounds sexist somehow- it's just hard to get into a woman's head! ... maybe that's why I'm still single.) NOT first person. It... tends to feel like I'm listening to one of my friends brag about his exploits, when it's written in first person. I've had enough of that realside to last me a lifetime. |

Cowboy stories. They always have a romantic element. Not just Broke Back Mountain

yeah, I'd kinda like somethin' straight. XP look, I can't be the only human male on the planet who's got a romantic bone in my body, here.
And yeah, I see the westerns. Sadly, as a kid, I -tore- through lots of louis L'amour. So most of that I've kinda exhausted. Hah. (I spent summers with a relative who had an entire -library.- all westerns. Last edited by Tassyr; 08-12-2012 at 05:23 AM. |

Let's get one thing straight. . .
romance for guys is fine. But I don't think it should get in the way of the sword fights, car crashes and rocket ships.

Do you like Science Fiction? The Liaden books by Sharon Lee & Steve Miller have a fair bit of romance in them.

And you can try, if you like sci-fi, "Komarr" and "A civil campaign", by Lois McMaster Bujold. And, if you like fantasy, the first Challion book bybthe same author.

You could also take a look at Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer. Romance, mystery and humour. I thought it got at bit silly at times, but it was a fun read.
