iPad 3 Passcode Bypass & Non-Synced Data Recovery
Hello All~
We need expert help! Daughter, 15, cannot remember iPad 3 passcode and has never backed up any data. Why, you ask... because she's 15 She uses this for school and has files and such that she really doesn't want to lose. Is there a way to bypass the passcode without losing any of the data stored on the device? We found http://www.wondershare.com/data-recovery/. It looks promising. Does anyone have any info, reviews etc. about it? We understand she might have to factory reset and lose data but I hope there is something we can do before that step. Yes, from now on... she will back up on a regular basis! Thanks for any help! |

I suspect iTunes can perform a backup without needing the password if it was set up with the device.

No, there is no way to recover your data if you lost your password. Two of my colleagues had this problem and one of them went to the local Apple Store and they both lost their data. You might be able to recover the data that is visible in iTunes in the App sharing area, but I think that's all.

Without the passwords, you won't be getting the data back. The iPad will be wiped. ALl you can get back are the apps but none of the app data.

Thank you all for the replies.
Godd news... she remembered that all of her data was backed up on Dropbox... not through iTunes. So, she wiped it and redownloaded everything. It took a while but she didn't lose anything. Lesson learned... she wrote the passcode on a piece of paper which is under the glass of her desk. |

I know this is too late, but for future reference, here's Apple's instructions, which may allow you to save your data: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212?v...S&locale=en_US
