3g question
Hi,
This is likely a silly question, but if you have the 3g version paperwhite 3, do you get charged a fee to email personal documents? I wanted to get a 3g device for when we go camping, but I email documents very often and would not be happy paying fees. Thanks, Penny |

The grayscale Kindles (which you mention) can only receive e-mail from the Amazon server. There is no general purpose e-mail client included. (Although there might be one available in the dev. forum, I am not sure about that.) |

If you scroll down in there you find "Personal Document Settings" And at the bottom below the list of your kindles registered is this block: Code:
Whispernet Delivery Options You can change document delivery options for your Kindle devices or set the maximum charge for a single personal document sent wirelessly over Whispernet to your Kindle with 3G support. Personal documents exceeding the maximum charge will not incur a fee and will only be available for delivery via Wi-Fi or USB transfer. Learn more Whispernet Delivery Over 3G (Fees Apply) Disabled Maximum Charge Limit: $ 0 Edit Whispernet Delivery You can get personal documents over wi-fi, but you would be able to get paid amazon books over 3g for free still. |

It's a little odd. Once the personal document is in the cloud you can download it for free.
Thus suppose you have a Fire or any Wi-Fi only device. Email the document to its magic address. Now go to Manage Your Content and Devices and send it to your 3G Kindle. Or archive/ cloud /on/ your 3G Kindle. No charge. |

You need to re-read the fine print.
Not everything is "free" when sent over "free 3G" only some things (like Amazon purchases). |
