Mexican Literature

Next month I'll be going on a work trip to Mexico. When I go on these trips, I like to learn a little about the culture of the country. I'd like to get some recommendations on Mexican literature, hopefully in a e-book format, that I can read during my trip.
Any suggestions will be helpfull.
Of course, since I'm a typical US-American, it needs to be in English, cause I don't know any other language. :-(

I have not read this, but when browsing online I found a novel set during the Mexican Revolution, called The Underdogs. It's by Mariano Azuela.

A few of Carlos Fuentes' novels are being published for the Kindle on May 14.
His best known book in the U.S. is probably Old Gringo, because of the Gregory Peck movie.

I don't think I've read any Mexican authors myself, but I've put together a collection of links for you to help with searching:

thanks for all the suggestions... I got The Underdogs, which looks good. I'll look into Carlos Fuentes also
