Ok I'll try that..

What seems to happen (i tried it again), is that it takes forever to buffer, and the audio plays somewhat, but the video never does. Maybe its just the wifi connection I am on at work. MY wifi at home is much stronger.

No, I haven't fixed it.

But my PE isn't playing youtube videos either, and it looks like the same bug.

So I'll try to fix it right away

I sent you my alogcat file last night. Thanks so much.....I am sure there will be many users benefiting from your help...

I was able to stream from my Old Time Video app successfully.....Netflix still doesn't....and can't install Crackle.

Do you have any idea how i can get Google Earth installed? I have been looking but can't seem to locate the apk file.

Try toggling on and off Youtube's Hi Def mode. Will it play now? It started playing for me after that, but it might be a coincidence.

First of all, I am new to the forum and the PE. Also, thank you ktwombley, vldmr, tarvoke and all who contributed to this fix. I am so happy that I can buy app from android market!!

Just one little problem with the gmail app. Every time when I click "show pictures" in the email, it crashes and get me back to the inbox. Is anyone has the same problem or just me? Hope someone here can help me to fix the problem.

How do you toggle the HiDef mode on and off?

EDIT: found it but it still makes no diff....video begins to play then stops

EDIT: it may be a buffering problem on a weak wifi connection.....they start....stop......start....stop..etc

It may sounds trivial, but I updated the youtube app via market and its working fine. I dont know however if it wouldnt have worked without the update...

Just a quick note of sincere thanks! Just recently got 2 woot special PE's. Kept one at original 1.6 Dingo, but am messing around with the other one. I tried your Allmine latest update and it was _so_smooth_ ! Everything worked just as described and I had not problems other than anxiety... It's late for me now and got an early rise tomorrow, but did want to say thanks to all of you that paved the path before I got here. In the famous words of some old movie star - I'll be back. (to see what's up and let you know if things are still working fine)

soooo....I tried it at home and some vids worked and others didnt....however they still took time buffering but once they started seemed to do ok. One thing i did notice though was if a vid failed to play and stopped, then selecting another one would show the stopped image from the last one but with the new audio....weird. Is there a cache I need to clear out?

Still no go with Netflix.....and Crackle will not install for some reason.....

Has anyone who has applied this market/gapps fix been able to make a phone call with Google Talk?

There are posters who have gotten skype (audio only) and Nettalk working, so it has capacity to act as a wifi phone.

I thought some people here had mentioned using grooveIP, but I didn't pay too much attention...?

I have had some success with my usual combination of gvoice, gv-callback, csipsimple (but this way requires a SIP account terminated to an actual north american DID - i.e. to work, needs a real phone number capable of ringing a SIP device)

but the quality is not the best and not every call works. which is a little funny since exactly the same setup works almost perfectly on my VM670 (regardless of if it's on wifi or 3g)

I guess I wasn't clear enough: I'm not interested in some VOIP, but only Skype and only audio.
Skype(beta) gives me text messaging only.
Truphone is kind of works, but voice quality is absolutely atrocious.

The Nettalk thread was entitled "Free Voip Calling on the Edge devices" and opened in July by Mokel22.

I found so many posts (including one by you providing a link to a Skype beta apk), that I will bump that thread with a post listing some of the threads on the topic of telephony on the pocket edge.
