Torch of Freedom - Weber/Flint

Torch of Freedom - Weber/Flint

This is the second book in the "Wages of Sin" spin off by David Weber and Eric Flint. It's set in the Honor Harrington universe and runs parallel to the main story line with minor characters in the main line being fleshed out as major characters in this spin off.

This is a space/spy thriller type of book. Wonderfully paced. Nail biting action. Great characters. Genetic slavery is the back drop of this spin off with Haven and Manticore, bitter enemies in the main line, teaming up to fight Man Power and Mesa in this story.

I love the entire HH Universe and this book doesn't disappoint. I guess the only sad thing is that I'm now caught up with all the HH books except the anthologies. It's been a fun year reading something like 15 or so books.

Also credit should be shared about Baen as a publishers. In addition to hard backs and paper packs, the ebooks are sold without DRM for $6. If that's too much, many of the books are available for free in the Baen Free Library (www.baen.com/library). Most all of the series are available at The Fifth Imperium where cd images are hosted (with permission from Baen) that had been distributed with the hard back books.

Enjoy,

Lee

I discovered Baen because of this forum and it's been my goto site to satisfy my resurgent interest in SF. I'll have to check out Torch of Freedom.

Already have it (still need to finish the HH series before I start this). Question, on the Baen/Webscriptions website is there any info on the book series they stock and which books are in which order? If you do a series search for Honor Harrington you get all the ebooks in order, but no differentiating mark to show the end of HH and the start of Wages of Spin or Saganami Series. Or is wikipedia our true friend?

If you go to The Fifth Imperium and pull down Mission of Honor CD, the listing of the Honor Harrington series are in order.
