I have a friend who purchased a table lamp with a translucent shade. The shade was embellished with a decorative eastern script that turned out to be Thai. He was pretty sure that the text on the shade was something pretty significant such as the Heart Sutra or some such. After some difficulty he found a Thai lady in South Africa and asked her for a translation.
Turned out it was a recipe for chicken soup. |
