Wall Street Journal compares Kindle to PRS700
http://online.wsj.com/video/andy-jor...A9895878F.html
Hopefully you can all get to the video. It's not a very good review unfortunately. First, it calls the PRS700 "the Sony Reader", ignoring the fact that it's only one of two models sold by Sony. Secondly, she does a drop test, but only drops one device, the Sony. She doesn't explain anything about the formats, DRM, etc. She doesn't tell you that you can buy contemporary titles from all sorts of places besides the Sony store. Essentially, she says the Sony product is a good one in a world without the Kindle. She trumps the wireless feature as the single most important feature for a consumer. Glad eBooks are getting the exposure, but disappointed in the lackluster review from a woman who already has a bias. |

I can't see the video (it's blocked by my work's filter), but I am still disappointed in the review, based on your description.
How can an editor or site director let something that biased be posted? |

I saw the video yesterday (someone on the 700 board posted about it). It is biased toward the Kindle but it was supposedly a review comparing the two.
On the whole, I didn't think it was a very good review because she was sent the Sony to review but threw in the Kindle because a colleague mentioned she had one. That's the reason there was no drop test for the Kindle, she was using a co-workers Kindle. If she'd received one from Amazon she probably would have done the test. She did mention that someone received a Kindle with a damaged screen leading viewers to believe that the Kindle might be more delicate than the 700. |

I have long since disregarded any "comparison" or "Versus" reviews simply because the are almost all very biased. Anytime a reviewer is more knowledgeable in one product over another it will never get a fair review.
