Question Error: Unable to Open Item

Hi there,
I simply wanted to show the battery meter in a dialog box using the GUI Launcher, but I was a bit lazy for the moment and ran the following command instead (in shell via SSH, just to test):

Code:
gasgauge-info -s > /mnt/us/documents/battery.txt
After runnung this, I saw this file is shown in my home screen (library). But surprisig I can't open any document anymore! I didn't dare to reboot the device in case it bricks again!!! Has anyone have a clue what I should do?

Thanks

Have you tried deleting this file using SSH? Like "rm /mnt/us/documents/battery.txt"

Yes I deleted it. You know JustAMan, I didn't even dare to do 'restart framework' let alone rebooting. What's your best guess? Half of me says there'd be no problem if I do, the other half of me says "because Touch is so delicate I might brick this one too!!!" I don't know which half is wiser!

P.S. I hold on my breath whenever I do a reboot as I had a really bad experience of bricking my 1st Touch so simple!

Umm... I dunno, never had the case you're describing.
But you many try to understand what's going on by:
a) starting "showlog -f" in SSH
and
b) trying to open anything and watching that output trying to find out the reason of those errors

Oh good idea!

It seems the issue is with com.lab126.booklet.reader! The output is as below:

I wonder if there is a way for restarting the booklet reader by sending an event using libc-sent-event, but I don't know where I can get the list of events and the appropriate parameters!!!?

Alright, phew! Just as a heads-up and a reference for future, this was not a serious issue and by issuing a 'restart framework' command, the problem is now gone, so this thread can be deemed as resolved now. but remember not to create any file using ssh command line in /mnt/us/documents/

Thanks JustAMan
