hee ! that's what i like about you pshrynk, not only do you have a favorite character from asterix, it's Cacofonix. (i discover they don't have the same names in english though ; in the french version his name is Assurancetourix. surprisingly, in this case it's funnier in english actually).

OH, Nekokami, I promise it will get better. Been there, done that. Look forward. In the meantime, repeat after me "Someday, she will have teenagers of her own!!"

When you get your retired buns out here to visit, I'll tell you how to pronounce it. It's one of the few French words I know well.

Then again, Sandra Moon speaks French quite fluently.

Sweetie, I'll hide you even if you never pick up a shovel. Just come out, bring your ebooks and your own dear self and relax.

Assurancetourix. My HS French is so rusty that I have no idea what that might even be starting to pun on. I also have to rewind my brain to the late 60's to see if there is some reference that only reallyold farts would get. But, yes, Cacafonix, nee Assurancetourix, is the funniest of all of them. He doesn't even have to appear in the book until the last frame and he still gets my biggest laugh. I especially loved it when they used him as Roman Repellant in the "Mansions of the Gods".

Assurancetourix = "assurance tous risques" or "all risk insurance". it's the insurance you buy for your car. you see now why it's funnier in english.

Yes, you would be welcome anytime. It would take a whole hour to show you the wonders of Bham. We have Vulcan, and .... um.... some malls and .... did I say Vulcan already?

It was LBJ's opening line from the speech he gave where he said that he would not seek and would not accept his party's nomination for the office of President in 1968. We were coming back from Sunday night church youth group and almost drove off the road when we heard it.
